HAPPY 85TH BIRTHDAY

.

A lovely afternoon at the Club last week when the Wednesday afternoon recorder group celebrated the 85th birthday of their leader, Margaret Wright.  Family members and invited guests enjoyed a special concert provided by the musicians followed by an even more special afternoon tea.  Many Happy Returns Margaret!

FREE TO A GOOD HOME

.

The table tennis below was kindly donated to the Club, but is actually not suitable for our table tennis groups.  Before I offer it on a local Buy Nothing site, perhaps there is someone in the Club who could use it?  It is in excellent condition and as pictured, it folds up for transport/storage as required.  Please contact Polly if you would like to add this to your family’s exercise and entertainment items.

Memory Loss

.

It was only yesterday, I became aware

That my memory isn’t always there

It’s annoying, like walking with one leg

I looked in my pockets and in my bag

In drawers, but no, nowhere to be found

It left me without making a sound

It is strange I totally agree

So I went on a shopping spree

Just for comfort and trying to forget

And hey!  There it was.  A memory bed.

But after all, whose memory would I buy?

I’m talking to you, you arrogant sales guy

To get into the core of another’s life

Finding out maybe he cheated on his wife

Is not at all what I am looking for

That is not right or fair that’s for sure

How many memories did you take?

How many beds do you plan to make?

Now all the people with memory loss

Have to pay you or maybe your boss

For something you greedily took from them

You should be sent to jail for such a scam

In the meantime I try to find mine

With my memory back I will shine

Shine again until the day I die

And in case I get lost on the way – goodbye.

PLEASE HELP OUR CARPARK MONITORS

.

We are all enjoying the results of their work and there is a way that we all can help.  PLEASE !!  PLEASE !!   display your parking voucher when you park at the Club.  This will save a lot of time for Sue, Ron and Polly as they go about identifying members vs the interlopers and freeloaders in our car park.
