Fund Raising at Bunnings
We have the opportunity to have a sausage sizzle on Sunday 11 August at Bunnings at Fyshwick. It seems a while away but would you like to offer to be involved. Just phone Polly on 6282 2573.
Reminder – Morning Tea with Alan Foskett
Woden Seniors and the Woden Community Service are running a collaborative program of talks each month commencing on Thursday May 2 at 10.00 am.
We have well known historian and author, Alan Foskett coming to speak about the life and times of Canberra as we celebrate 100 years. Morning tea will be available from 10.00 am – 12.00 pm.
Monday morning, 10.00 – 12.00 noon a fun card game but also good for memory and skill development. Beginners very welcome.
Wednesday 12.00 noon – 1.30 pm a team sport, played indoors. Very good to strengthen bones!
Come and dance with us on Mondays 10.00 – 12.00 noon. We have fun, exercise and a cuppa! We would love to meet you. Just try it one time at least. We do easy learners, easy intermediate and much, much more!
Tip for the Week
It is the action of our muscles pulling on our bones which keep our bones strong. So, if you don’t use your muscles both muscles and bones will get weaker – and that is pretty scary as we get older! This means exercise isn’t optional, it is essential – so, if you don’t already have an exercise program, have another look at the activities above and our other programs.
