Annual General Meeting
The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 19 September. The following members were elected to the Management Committee.

Learn to Dance
Social dance lessons are held at the Club on Tuesday from 2pm to 3:30pm. The lessons cover ballroom (foxtrot, waltz, quickstep), Latin (rumba, cha-cha, jive) and New Vogue if requested. They are suitable for beginners up to intermediate. No partners required and there is no charge other than the normal Club activity fee. All welcome.
Tuesday Bridge
Tuesday Bridge recommenced on 6 September from 10am – 12.45pm. New players are welcome!
Member Concert
A great time was had by all at the member concert last Sunday, many thanks to all the participants and the organizing group.
Spiral program
Spiral is a group of senior citizens (60+ to 90+) which meets at the St. James Uniting Church in Curtin each Thursday from 10.00am till midday.
September 29 Spiral birthday lunch
This year we will celebrate at Corvina Restaurant at Swinger Hill. If you are coming please let us know, and please select which main course you would like to eat. You can let Sue Murray know on 6281 6974 by Monday night. The meal will be subsidised thanks to our Southern Cross Community Rewards – your contribution is $10. We will start at midday.

October 13 Rachael Duncan – opera singer, mother, business owner
Rachael’s story will take you around the world. Growing up in various places then studying Music in Brisbane she moved to London in 1998. She had five years in Germany before returning to Canberra. Now the mother of two and partner in a business she still performs regularly.
October 27 Robert Macklin
Robert is a prolific author, film-maker and journalist. He will talk about his latest book, the biography of Hamilton Hume, which is already in its fifth print run. His works cover an extremely wide range of subjects. Books available for purchase and signing.
November 3 The Heartbeats
Last chance to catch this always entertaining, always popular group performing your favourite songs.
November 10 Latham Primary School Choir
How many years does it take before we can call this a tradition? We welcome back these talented kids. It’s understandable that we enjoy the innocence of these young people but it seems that they enjoy spending time with us. Long may it continue.
