Bunnings Sausage Sizzle – 11 August 2013

A very big thank-you to Nola Nagle and her family, assisted by Margaret Kennedy, Gemma and Ross Willcox and Geoff Crossley, for running the sausage sizzle at Bunnings last week-end.  The sausage sizzle cleared over $1,100 dollars for the Club.  Another big thank-you to the Club’s Bridge players who cooked cakes and made jams for sale, raising an additional $400.

Friday Talk
Mobile Phones again! By special request, for, those who couldn’t make last Thursday (and possibly even those who did) Grahame will be talking about mobile phones and tablets (particularly Android versions) next Friday 23 Aug from 10 – 12. The talk is aimed at those who want to know what smart phones can do and how to use them. NO prior knowledge is needed, but if you have one bring it. Not everyone needs a smart phone but you should at least know what on earth all those people are doing staring at their phones all the time.

Tip for the Week
The most interesting program on the radio is Margaret Throsby’s interview on ABC Classic FM (frequency 102.3 in Canberra) at midday each week day. If you can’t catch it at midday you can hear it on the ABC’s web site, or even download it as a podcast to your computer or mobile phone!
