SOUP DAYS (AND WINTER!!) COMING TO AN END
Thanks to everyone who has made soup, joined others for a soup lunch at the Club, or taken soup home for later! We will stop soup days at the end of this month, ie last Monday soup will be on 25th August, and last Wednesday soup on 27th August. As in previous years, the funds raised from the sale of soup will be used to subsidise the Club’s very popular Christmas party.
A LITTLE GOOD NEWS STORY
As most members will know, there is a constant stream of boxes and bags containing donated books coming in to the Club. Recently, a very upset donor phoned to say that a particular book, precious to the family, had accidentally been put in the box of donated books left at the Club. The book sorting team on the day got to work and were able to locate the book so it could be returned to its owner. The team have been enjoying the chocolates brought in to them as a thank you!!
