NEW…. SOCIAL/GAMES ACTIVITY
Do you enjoy Scrabble? MahJong? Card games? Monopoly? Having a cuppa and a chat?
Do we have a new activity session for you! We will offer a games and social get together activity on Thursday mornings, 10.00am to 12.30pm in Hall 2 – starting on
THURSDAY 1 JUNE.
We have the games mentioned above, but please feel free to bring along your favourite board game/s to share.
We envisage tables of two, three or four people to play. Bring three friends with you, or just come along and we’ll find you a seat at the table to play your choice of game, or just come for the cuppa and chat. No need to book in, just come along.
MEMBERSHIP
A reminder to check that your membership is current…. and if you have a parking permit that it too is current. Financial members are covered by the Club’s insurance while leading or participating in activities and the Club is covered too. During 2020-2022 membership dates were extended and some of us have become a bit confused about when renewals are due. Please check with Polly if you are unsure, either next time you are at the Club or by phone on 6282 2573.
DO YOU HAVE AN @grapevine EMAIL ADDRESS?
Thanks to our IT guru Richard for the following advice:
Members with email addresses username@grapevine.com.au, username@grapevine.net.au and username@homemail.com.au are reminded that they will no longer be able to use these email addresses to send, receive or forward emails from 6 June 2023, as notified in advice they should have already received from iiNet.
Full details of the closure including how to back up important emails you wish to keep can be found at Email Service Closure | iiHelp (iinet.net.au) .Free email addresses you might wish to consider as replacements are Gmail, available at Create your Google Account and Outlook at Create account (live.com). If you use an Apple product (iPhone, iPad, Macbook) you should already have an iCloud email address which you can use.
If you wish to continue to receive communications from Woden Seniors after 6 June (e.g. Fortnightly News, membership renewal reminders) you will need to obtain a new email address and notify Polly. You will also need to notify all your current contacts, including financial and other businesses and subscription services, of your new email address, preferably prior to 6 June.
PARKING AT THE CLUB
Our Club is very privileged to have car parking available for members on our site. As you know, we have Wilson Parking to manage the parking so ensure that people who are not entitled to use the facility are detected and fined. For your safely we really recommend that members don’t approach anyone who may look like they are not bona fide – you are risking an unpleasant encounter at the very least and rest assured, Wilsons will catch up with offenders in due course. (And a reminder – don’t forget to check that your parking permit is current and that your number plate details are correctly recorded to avoid the attentions of Wilsons!)
