WODEN SENIORS AGM – Reminder
2023 Annual General Meeting
Date: Monday 18 September 2023
Time: 12.00 pm
Place: Hall 1
Members are cordially invited to attend the AGM. Our constitution specifies a minimum number of people required to be at the meeting (the quorum) for it to be viable so your attendance will be much appreciated. A reminder that financial members only are eligible to vote at the AGM.
Light refreshments will be served following the meeting.
NOT A NEW OIL WELL….
Thanks everyone for your patience while our plumber cleared and re-lined the inspection pit just outside the front door and made it accessible. The pit allows access for the cameras and electric eels used to locate and clear blockages in the drainage pipes under the Club building.
TULIP TOP VISIT – Wednesday 4th October
As below, Potters Travel can provide a day visit for Club members (families and friends welcome too) to the fabulous Tulip Top Gardens in nearby Sutton during the Spring flowering.
A minimum of twenty participants are required for a viable excursion, and if we have twenty starters the cost is $130 per person, but if we have thirty or more, the cost goes down to $110 per person. The cost includes coach travel (pick up and return to Woden Seniors), entry to Tulip Top and lunch.
So that we can confirm or otherwise, please let Polly know by Monday week, 11th September if you are interested in coming along.
If the numbers add up, payment will be due by Monday 25th September.
COTA SENIORS EXPO – Thursday 21 September
Again this year Woden Seniors Club will join with other seniors clubs in the Canberra area share a stall at the COTA Seniors Expo at EPIC.
We will have information available about our Club and its activities and particularly about our 2024 Book Fair. The Expo is well worth the trip to the north side (aka the dark side!!) of town with stalls and information sessions from a huge number of providers of interest and value for seniors. Drop in and say hello on the day.

Thanks Margaret Wright for the following wisdom:
Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Some people try to turn back their “odometers.” Not me.
I want people to know why I look this way.
I’ve travelled a long way and a lot of the roads were not paved.
Ah! Being young is beautiful but being old is comfortable.
Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.
May you always have:
Large print,
Love to share,
Cash to spare,
Tires with air,
And friends who care.
