ANOTHER MEMBER IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

Queanbeyan City News last week published these great photos and an equally great story about Margaret Wright,  as part of a series on remarkable Canberrans.

Many members will know that Margaret leads the Recorder Orchestra which fills our Hall with the sounds of Mozart and Vivaldi, Handel and Rachmaninoff, folk songs and sea shanties every Wednesday afternoon.

KARI’S LOSS – OUR GAIN

A family member moving to Norway has resulted in some very welcome donations of household items which really wouldn’t fit in the overhead locker.  Importantly, we now have a very spiffy new (and much needed) mini-fridge in the Anne Murray room.

Eye halve a spelling checker

It came with my pea sea

It plainly marks four my revue

Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word

And weight for it two say

Weather I am wrong oar write

It shows me strait a weigh.

.

As soon as a mist ache is maid

It nose bee fore two long

And eye can put the air roar rite

It’s rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem through

Eye am shore yore pleased to no

It’s letter perfect awl the weigh

My checker tolled me sew.
