Yes it is on again! Margaret Bourke, who has led this very successful event for the past two years is taking a break and Management Committee Member, Sue Schriener has stepped up to lead the event this year.
Sue is looking for volunteers to help with the sorting, cleaning and pricing of books as they come into the Club. It is envisaged that that this activity would take place most mornings during the week in the veranda area. If you have a few hours to spare, regularly or occassionally and want to drop in to help out, and have a cuppa and a chat please let Polly know.
Melbourne Cup
What a wonderful afternoon! Sometimes it was difficult to hear above the excitement! The food brought in by members was plentiful, varied and delicious.
Our thanks to Tony McDonald for organising and running the sweeps, without which it wouldn’t seem like a Melbourne Cup. Thanks especially to Anne Murray, Lutana McLeod and Cindy McMillan for their planning and work in staging the event.
See you all next year.
